Jack began his law practice in 1976 and in the same year was elected Prosecuting Attorney of Laclede County. He served in that position for 13 years before he focused on his private legal practice. Through the years Jack represented many who were less fortunate and he always saw that even the underprivileged received justice. He was proud when his son Eric joined the firm and it became Miller and Miller Attorneys’ At Law.
Through the years Jack was involved statewide in the Republican Party. He worked on many campaigns through the years and helped start the political careers of several young public servants. He was always willing to invest in the lives of young people around him and became a role model for many. He was a major advocate for education and was able to enjoy education to the fullest when he was appointed for the Board of Governors of Missouri State University by Governor John Ashcroft. He served the university with distinction during tough times and proved to be a capable leader as Chairman of the Board of Governors.
